Indonesia Power is a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero) was established on October 3, 1995 formerly known as PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali I (PT PJB I). After 5 years operations, PT PJB I changed its name to Indonesia Power. The change is aimed at forming a pure business entity capable of competing in electricity business. Over its 10 years of operations, Indonesia Power has shown its existence by enhancing business performance.   Indonesia Power operates eight Generating Business Units (GBU): The GBU of Suralaya, Priok, Kamojang, Saguling, Mrica, Semarang, Perak - Grati, and Bali, and one Maintenance Services Business Unit (MSBU) in Jakarta.

Through its 127 power plants, with a total capacity of 8.888 MW, Indonesia Power becomes the largest electricity Power Generating Company ini Indonesia.

Indonesia Power is continuing to increase its installed capacity, in Java and outside Java such as West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Sumatera, Jambi, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Trough its new indentity, Indonesia Power was declaring the integrated vision and mission to be a public company with a world class performance. For more than ten years, Indonesia Power has trusted to generate electricity in Indonesia and awarded several management certification, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS, SMK3 Certification from Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, PADMA Award for Community Developent, and ASEAN Renewable Energy Award.
